Who’s The Next Michael Phelps?

Friday, June 3, 2011

Michael Phelps has been so popular in swimming category, he surpasses the American swimmer Mark Spitz. Phelps holds the record for the most gold medals won in a single Olympics, isn’t he amazing? His record breaking performances had made him World Swimmer of the Year and American Swimmer of the Year not just once but six times in world and eight times in America.  In this coming event in 2012 in London, this will be his last game, after that he will retire because as he explains he doesn’t want to compete anymore when he reaches the age 30. By next year he will be turning 27 so by 2016 in Brazil he will be 31. In the 2012 swimming event there will be four strokes: Freestyle (essentially, front crawl), Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly. All four strokes feature in the Individual Medley and Medley Relay events. The venue would be in the Aquatics Center at the Olympics Park and for the marathon swimming it will be in Hyde Park.
